Web design and development for Jersey.

Jersey businesses tend to need more from a website than their size suggests — regulated sectors, international clients, and compliance requirements that a template will not accommodate.

Locally

Small island, demanding requirements.

The finance sector dominates, and it brings requirements most small-business websites never face: client areas with real access control, document handling that satisfies a compliance officer, and enquiry routing that does not leave sensitive details sitting in a shared inbox. Those are access and data problems rather than design ones.

Jersey also has its own data protection law and authority, separate from the UK. The practical effect is that assumptions carried over from a mainland project may not hold, and it is considerably cheaper to establish that at the start than to discover it during a compliance review.

Away from finance there is hospitality, retail and professional services serving both the island and a visiting population — more conventional work, though often with multi-currency or seasonal requirements that need thinking about.

Questions

What Jersey clients ask.

Does Jersey data protection law apply differently?
Jersey has its own data protection law and its own authority, separate from the UK regime. In practice the principles are similar, but the obligations are not automatically the same and your compliance team should confirm what applies. We build to whichever standard you tell us governs you.
Can client documents be held securely?
Yes, and properly — access checked when the document is requested rather than the file merely being hidden from a menu. For regulated firms that distinction is the whole point.
Where is the data hosted?
London by default. If you need it in a specific jurisdiction we can provision there instead, including into your own cloud account. Worth raising before the build rather than after.
Do you work with other island businesses?
We work in the Channel Islands, including a long-running engagement with an emergency service charity. Much of our work is delivered under agreement so we cannot name clients, but the case studies describe the problems and the approach.

Not just what it should look like. We will tell you what it would take, what it would cost, and when something cheaper would get you most of the way — before you have committed to anything.
