Fulham has an unusual number of serious businesses operating at small scale — one or two people, real expertise, and no appetite for an agency process designed for much larger clients.
The commercial life here runs along the Fulham Road, North End Road and the New King’s Road: independent shops, restaurants and bars, specialist services, and a very large number of consultancies and practices operating from home addresses. Few of them need a large site. Most of them need a good one.
What that changes is the shape of the engagement rather than the quality. A discovery process built for a six-figure project is wasted here, and so is a site with a content management system nobody will ever log into. The useful version is a short, clear build that does its job and that you can update yourself without ringing anybody.
The hospitality side is the exception, because a restaurant or bar site lives or dies on whether somebody can see the menu and book a table in a few taps on a phone outside your door. That is worth getting right properly, and most off-the-shelf booking plugins make it harder than it needs to be.
