Epsom · KT17 / KT18

Web design and development for Epsom and north Surrey.

Most of our Epsom work is for established owner-run businesses — the sort where the website has been quietly neglected for six years while the business itself has changed considerably.

Where we are

The same corner of Surrey.

We are in Tolworth, around five miles north east of Epsom — the same stretch of the Surrey border rather than a trip out from London. Close enough to come out for a kick-off and for the meetings that genuinely need a room.

The bulk of a project still runs over email, calls and a staging site, as it would whether we were five miles away or a hundred. What being nearby changes is the start, and the occasions when something is easier shown than described.

Locally

The brief we get most often here.

Epsom and the surrounding KT postcodes are dominated by established small and medium businesses — professional practices, healthcare and private clinics, trades and specialist contractors, and a long tail of family firms that have been going for decades. The pattern we see repeatedly is a business that has outgrown its website without noticing: the site still describes what they did in 2017, the enquiry form goes to an inbox nobody owns, and nothing on it connects to the systems the business actually runs on.

That last point is usually where the real value is. These firms tend to have an accounting package, a booking or job-management system and a spreadsheet that somebody maintains by hand. Getting the website to write into those directly removes the re-typing, and that saves more hours per month than any amount of redesign.

What we do

What Epsom clients ask us for most.

We do the same work wherever the client is — these are simply the parts that come up most often here.

Related work

Projects of a similar shape.

Much of our work is delivered white label or under agreement, so these describe the problem and the approach rather than naming the client.

Also nearby

Other areas we work in.

We take on work across Surrey and UK-wide. Around Epsom that regularly includes Ewell, Ashtead, Banstead, Leatherhead, Sutton and Cheam.

Questions

What Epsom clients ask.

Does using a firm outside Epsom make you more expensive?
Probably not. We are a small studio in Tolworth, on the Surrey border rather than in central London, so we do not carry a central London overhead. Where we tend to be better value is on the technical work — integrations, applications, anything bespoke — because that is what we do all day. For a straightforward brochure site, a good local firm may well be the sensible choice, and we will say so.
Our website is six years old. Rebuild or improve?
We will look before answering. A six-year-old site that is structurally sound often needs new content, a tidier front end and a working enquiry route, which is a fraction of a rebuild. We only recommend starting again when the foundation is genuinely in the way — and we will show you why rather than just assert it.
Can you make the website talk to our accounting system?
Usually. Most mainstream accounting, booking and job-management packages have an API, and where one does not there is often a workable route via export or a middle layer. The first step is a short piece of work to confirm what your particular systems allow, so nobody commits to an integration that turns out to be impossible.
Do you take on ongoing maintenance?
Yes, as a retainer with a named developer and a set number of hours a month — unused hours roll over once. Coverage is Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm, and our response target for a site that is offline or unusable is two business hours.
Next step

Tell us what the site has to do.

Not just what it should look like. We will tell you what it would take, what it would cost, and when something cheaper would get you most of the way — before you have committed to anything.
