Web design and development for Guernsey.

We already work on the island, and the thing that catches mainland agencies out is that Guernsey is not the UK — different regulator, different data rules, different payment arrangements.

Locally

Not a UK postcode, and it matters.

Guernsey has its own data protection authority, its own financial regulator and payment arrangements that do not always match the mainland. An agency that treats it as another UK region tends to find out halfway through a build — usually when a payment provider turns out not to support island merchants, or a compliance requirement surfaces that nobody scoped.

The commercial mix is distinctive too. Finance, trust and fiduciary businesses make up a large share, and their websites are judged on credibility and discretion rather than flourish. Alongside that sit the local businesses, charities and public-facing organisations serving a population of around sixty thousand.

We already deliver on the island, including an emergency service charity where the site handles subscriptions, donations, event cover and course booking — four income routes through one platform rather than four systems.

Questions

What Guernsey clients ask.

Do you understand that Guernsey is not part of the UK?
Yes, and it is the first thing worth establishing with any supplier. Guernsey has its own data protection law and regulator, and payment and compliance arrangements that differ from the mainland. We would check what applies to your particular setup rather than assume UK rules carry across.
Can you handle island payment providers?
Usually. The thing to establish early is which providers will accept your business, because that is a merchant account question rather than a website one, and it can constrain what the checkout can do. We will confirm it before building around it.
Do you need to visit?
Rarely. The work runs on a staging site you can open from anywhere, and we have long-standing clients we have not met in person. For a project of real size we would come over for the kick-off if it genuinely helps.
Where would the site be hosted?
London data centres by default. If you have a requirement for data to stay in a particular jurisdiction, tell us at the start — it is a straightforward thing to arrange in advance and an awkward one to change later.
Next step

Tell us what the site has to do.

Not just what it should look like. We will tell you what it would take, what it would cost, and when something cheaper would get you most of the way — before you have committed to anything.
