Working with US clients

Web support from the UK, for US businesses.

The time difference is the usual objection and it is mostly backwards. Our working day finishes around the time yours begins, so maintenance happens overnight and you arrive to it done.

Work done overnight UK & EU hosting Honest about hours
Why US businesses come to us

Three reasons, and none of them is price.

The first is customers. A US business selling into the UK or Europe often wants the site hosted here — for speed to those visitors, and because questions about where customer data sits are easier to answer when the answer is London rather than Virginia. Several of our clients moved their hosting to the UK for exactly that reason.

The second is expansion. A company opening a UK or European operation needs someone in the timezone who understands local expectations — not just language, but how UK customers expect to pay, how data rules are described, and what a credible UK business site looks like.

The third is the overnight effect. Updates, migrations, deployments and anything that benefits from nobody using the site happen in our working day, which is your night. Work that a US agency would schedule for 2am is simply our Tuesday afternoon.

How it works in practice

What the arrangement looks like.

Maintenance while you sleep

Updates applied and checked during UK hours, so your site is patched and tested before your business day starts. No maintenance windows cutting into trading.

Hosting where your customers are

London data centres as standard, which is what you want if your visitors are in the UK or Europe. We can provision into your own cloud account if you would rather hold it.

Overlap that actually works

Our afternoon is your morning. That is a real window for calls and decisions rather than a theoretical one, and most clients find a few hours is plenty.

Deployments out of hours, for free

A release that would need an overnight slot in your timezone is routine daytime work in ours. You are not paying an out-of-hours premium for it.

UK and EU expectations

Data handling described the way UK and European customers expect, payment methods they actually use, and accessibility standards taken seriously.

Billing in your currency

We invoice in sterling by default and can work in dollars. Worth agreeing up front along with who carries any exchange movement.

Straight answers

Where the time difference genuinely costs you.

Live emergencies are the real limit

Our coverage is Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm UK — roughly 3am to 1pm Eastern. If your site breaks at 4pm your time, you are waiting until our morning. That is the honest trade and you should weigh it.

Not for high-touch daily work

If you need somebody in your standup every day, a domestic team is the right answer. This suits planned work, maintenance and projects rather than constant availability.

We do not advise on US law

State privacy laws, ADA expectations and sales tax are yours to take advice on. We build to whatever standard you tell us applies.

Questions

What US businesses ask.

Is the time difference a problem?
For planned work it is an advantage — maintenance and deployments happen while your site is quiet. For live emergencies it is a genuine limit: our hours are roughly 3am to 1pm Eastern, so an afternoon outage waits until our morning. If uptime during your business day is critical, that is worth weighing honestly before you commit.
Why would we host in the UK?
Mainly if your customers are here. UK and European visitors get a faster site, and questions about where data is held have a simpler answer. If your audience is entirely American, hosting closer to them usually makes more sense and we would say so.
Do you work with US companies already?
Yes, including clients who moved their hosting to the UK. Much of our work is delivered under agreement so we do not name clients, but the case studies describe multi-region platforms and international subscriber bases.
How does payment work?
We invoice in sterling as standard and can arrange dollars. Worth agreeing the currency and who carries exchange movement at the start rather than discovering it on the third invoice.
Is UK development cheaper?
Often somewhat, depending on the exchange rate and what you are comparing to. We would rather you chose us for the hosting location, the overnight working or the fit than for a rate that moves with the currency.

Tell us where your customers are.

That is the question that decides whether UK hosting and support makes sense for you — and we will tell you plainly when it does not.
