PrestaShop

PrestaShop development and support.

PrestaShop handles multi-language and multi-currency selling better than most platforms of its size, which is usually why businesses are on it and why leaving is less obvious than it looks.

Multi-language Module development Upgrades
Where it fits

Strong where it is strong.

PrestaShop is built around selling in several languages and currencies, with tax rules that differ by territory. Retailers trading across Europe often chose it for exactly that, and the alternatives tend to need plugins and compromise to match it.

The difficulties are usually version upgrades and module quality. Major versions have changed substantially, third-party modules vary enormously, and a shop carrying a dozen of them can find an upgrade blocked by the one that was never updated.

We work on PrestaShop as it is, rather than treating every enquiry as a migration opportunity. If the multi-territory capability is why you are there, replacing it is a bigger decision than it first appears.

What we do

The work that comes up most.

Module development

Custom modules where nothing off the shelf fits, written so an upgrade does not undo them.

Version upgrades

Planned around your module stack, tested on a copy, because that is what decides whether an upgrade is routine or a project.

Checkout and payment

Payment providers, checkout changes and the tax and shipping rules that go with selling into several countries.

Performance

Catalogue size, query load and caching. Large PrestaShop catalogues slow down in predictable places.

Integrations

Stock, pricing and orders connected to the accounting or ERP system behind the shop.

Retained support

Security patches and someone available when checkout misbehaves on a Friday.

Straight answers

Worth being clear about.

Modules decide your upgrade path

Not the core. We assess the module stack before quoting an upgrade, because that is where the surprises live.

Do not migrate reflexively

If you sell in several languages and currencies, matching that elsewhere is real work. Count it properly before moving.

Customised cores are a trap

Shops with edits to core files cannot be upgraded cleanly. Finding that out is part of the assessment, and it changes the plan.

Questions

What people ask about PrestaShop.

Should we move to WooCommerce or stay?
If multi-language and multi-currency selling is central to your business, staying is often right — reproducing that elsewhere is more work than it looks. If you sell in one territory and one language, the case for moving is stronger. We will cost both honestly rather than assume.
Our version is old. How hard is upgrading?
It depends almost entirely on your modules and whether anyone has edited core files. A clean install with well-maintained modules upgrades predictably; a shop with abandoned modules and core edits is a project. We assess before quoting.
Can you connect PrestaShop to our stock system?
Usually. PrestaShop has a web service API and most accounting and ERP packages have one too. The first step is confirming what both ends allow before anyone commits.
Next step

Tell us your version and your module list.

Those two things determine almost everything about what is possible and what it costs. We will tell you where you stand before quoting.
